Thanks again to the crew that committed to this trip. Although the first half was a piece of cake, the second half was strenuous. Downright exhilirating if I do say so myself. We gave it a 9, 9, 9, 8, 8, and Chris did not vote yet. Some pictures:
Morning sunlight—it’s the right time. Say, 9:00 AM?
The beaver dam:
Morning sun by Jeff’s Causeway:
Stonehunter:
Treeclimber:
Cedar Depths:
Cedar Gateway:
Cedar Alley:
Le’ Crew D’Skit
Everyman’s Friend, Chris:
Robert’s Branch
Scott in one of the river savannas:
Paul in one of the bigger savannas, not directly along the river:
Le’ Crew D’savanna:
Leather leaf rules the day. This is when the creek turned and ran
due north-northeast.
Upper Robert’s Branch—eastern branch. It was nice and smooth
like this all the way to the end.
This area at the Skit source is open upland pine. Very neat to be in.
Lotta room to move around.
I have this thing about going upriver all the way to the source.
Can’t beat the feeling when you get to the beginning.
