Set the wayback machine for 2002...

I recently learned about the "wayback machine" at archive.org. Their webcrawlers have been archiving everything on the internet since 1996. The earliest NJpinebarrens site I could find is the one above. Looks like there were 9 members and there were 4 posts online!

Quite an remarkable website - type any URL into the wayback machine box and it will show you a list of all the pages it's archived. I found an entire site I built in 1997, complete with all functioning links. Start here: http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

That is interesting but there is something odd with it. I was the second person to sign up on Ben's site and it shows I am the newest with as you said about 10 other members. Strange!

I imagine that might be explained by the fact that a web crawler archives the sites, so it probably isn't a snapshot of a specific moment but a composite of visits made over a period of time. Regardless, it boggles my mind that a database of this depth exists at all... it's kinda scary in fact!
