The NWS has just updated their forecast for my area (near Mays Landing):

Snow likely, mainly between 1am and 4am. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Areas further North aren't supposed get as much, this is Chatsworth for example:

A chance of snow, mainly between midnight and 4am. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight Cloudy. Snow showers developing late. Low near 25F. W winds at 5 to 10 mph, increasing to 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 50%.

Friday Night 90 % Precip. / 1-3 in
Cloudy with periods of snow after midnight. Low 22F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 90%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.

My daughter was up at 1AM and nothing was on the ground. At 5:30 it was there. The temp was 27 and now it is 31 just a little over an hour later. Went to the diner and traveling was not a problem.

Issued: 3:56 PM EST Dec. 18, 2016 – National Weather Service

Temperatures will continue to fall through this evening and into the
overnight in the wake of a strong cold front, with low temperatures
on Monday morning ranging from the the mid to upper teens north of
Interstate 78 to the low to mid 20s elsewhere. Any standing water
on untreated surfaces such as roads, driveways, and sidewalks will
freeze up.

This will create hazardous driving and walking conditions tonight
and Monday morning. Use caution and be prepared for slick spots.
If traveling, reduce speed and maintain a safe following distance
between vehicles.
