That is Lycopodiella caroliniana Al, a very distinctive club moss. It is recognizable by the leaves on the ground and by it's slim, compact profile. It is not seen as often as most of the other club mosses in the pines.
I know where there are a few clubmoss forests down here,probably not the same kind but look similar.There are some places near the Maurice River where the forests may be an acre in size.
