Spotted Turtle at Parker Preserve

Yesterday, was a great day for me…..and John too. Neither one of us had ever seen a Spotted Turtle before. This was a great find; the turtle is a species “of concern”. The turtle had just come out of the mud; it still had some on it. It was crossing from one bog over the dike road to the next bog. A report will be sent in to the Fish/Game re. the spotting.

I find spotted turtles down here quite often,usually along roadsides bordering the edge of salt marshes.
