As a sort of right of passage, I've taken all the new cameras I've gotten during the past 8 years to Spring Hill. So since it was so nice today, I decided to christen the D80 :) It was very warm and a bit muggy, but a nice breeze up on the hill made it quite enjoyable.

Pygmy pines out on a trail to nowhere. As others have observed, these little trees are getting bigger since there haven't been any fires in a long time. Very nice Mr. Boyd. As usual of course. This is NJ! They won't believe it back in Peoria, or Lake Wobegon.

There is a photo in the local newspaper of a family in the early 1900's having a picnic in the pine plains. The trees are maybe 18" tall. Fantastic!
 
The pygmy pines have a uniqueness all of their own,whether i am driving through themon my way to the shore,or out exploring in them,they do have a magnetic effect that attracts you to them even more.
 
Bare with me i took these pictures with a cell phone. I'm just curious if i found Spring hill or not. However if i didn't, I still found spectacular views in the dwarf pines.

On my way home I snapped a picture of that Russel's Crossing sign as well that we discussed a while ago

That sign seems different than I remember it. Was it where I said it was in that previous post?

It was at that same fork in the trail where i saw it. Maybe someone stole the old sign or broke it and it was replaced. That was the first time i was back there in quite a while
