By 8PM last night my eye was really bothering me. Even when closed it hurt. I had a cream called Ciloxan I had to out on it and I was in bed by 8:45. I t took me a while to get comfortable but finally went off, and I slept until 5. It feels much better so far today.

I had the contact removed and it is feeling better. He said it was a significant injury to the colored portion of the eye. I have to continue to use the drops and Ciloxan and have another appointment on Tuesday.

He gave me another prescription for some sort of antibiotic and after we left the place and were walking around he personally tracked me down and asked for it back. He had second thoughts about me taking two different medications and felt the drops were sufficient.

I took a photo of it as best I could and I can't really distinguish where it is.

Sorry to hear about that Guy. Glad you still found some stones so it wasn't a total bust. Yesterday was superb exploring weather and it was even warmer today. I've gotten some weird random stuff in my eye before and fiberglass was by far the worst. It's always a good idea to get the eyes checked out and usually a couple of days heals all. It does suck though, your eye feels like there's a hot ember in it, your nose runs uncontrollably, and your usually a little angry! Hope things get better soon!

Sorry to see what happened to your eye. I agree, there's nothing like that kind of pain, maybe because of the worry that accompanies it. Hope it's much better soon, for your sake and for ours--we need those eyes of yours!

This is a huge understatement.

Enjoyed this thread, but I wonder how a day can be spent with Alfie and nary a photo of him posted? Boo. Hiss. Isn't the camera naturally drawn toward him?

:)

what Guy needs to do is catch me showing myself after hurting myself and show everybody what a wuss I am.actually I would suck it up if Jess was there because you never let a woman see you whine, unless it's your wife.then you whine extra so she will baby you.

Boy, you sure do take advantage Al!

Guy, it looks like at 10:30 in the eye, I could reach in and pull a flap of the sclera surface back. I hope that is not what happened to you, a slice, but I think it has.

Guy,
I hope your eye is doing well.

To bad about the boards at Bloody bridge, I am shure some one will take the time to fix it.

Nice cedar swamp, I could spend all day poking around in them.

I went to have my eye checked again tonight and it is doing well. I have one more "free" appointment in February and I should be done with this.

These stones were located by me today but Guy did the cyber work,I just did the leg work.He took some just plain coordinates and said some magic words over them and converted them to super duper magellan triton 500 capable coordinates and said to me "Now,go find the lost stones of the house of Barrens and record them on the digital sd card of time.So off I went.
The first one I went to looked something like this.
[
IMAG0005.jpg

I believe this one was a pentecostal,i had to slap it twice and finally speak to it in tongues to get it to sit still for the picture.
It had a firend next to it that looked like this
IMAG0010.jpg

the next stone I found I believe was a baptist,i had to go through some deep water to get to it and almost got dunked several times, this is it's mug shot
IMAG0009.jpg

and it also had a friend
IMAG0008.jpg

The next one had to be a Hare Krishna...or Beatle groupie, all it would do is munch on moss and stare at the sky and i could sware i smelt cannabis,a lot of old flower posts not too far away too so maybe I did:)
IMAG0012.jpg

IMAG0011.jpg

and his friend
IMAG0007.jpg

and last but not least I found a loner,I think this one was a Jehovah methodist,at least thats what Heshouted at me anyway....JM thats my name JM...then again coulda been a dyslexic Mick Jagger fan or at least a Mick fan
IMAG0015.jpg

I then went to look for some more in a different area but didn't find much, then tried another area and the road was flooded so I went to check out a little island I just happened to run over on google earth and i fully expected a stand to be on it complete with bait pile but i was pleasantly surprised, there are no trees on this island big enough to put a stand in.here is a pic of it

That's quite a collection--you found all those in one day?
It sounds as if you endured a bit of tribulation to get to them, but at least it wasn't seven years. :)

Thanks for sharing.

yes actually all within a couple hours and yes a bit of tribulation but i did exagerate the depth of the water as any good storyteller has a right to do and I have no intention of going through the tribulation you speak of:)

All,

With most of the snow gone I was able to resume stone searching today, and with Jessica and Gloria (Glowardz) along we were able to find about 1/3 of what we were looking for. Not a great day in quantity, but one of them made the day worthwhile.

After meeting Gloria along 206 in Hammonton, we proceeded along the Swamp Branch looking for 4 stones. One of them I believe was incised but we were not able to find it. A future day with Al's help may flush it out. Our first find was one hidden below the leaves that I stepped on.

The next one was a basic stone and unremarkable.

IMG_4103.JPG

This next photo has a little bit of history to it. It is the actual Wharton Survey teams field notes for a stone along the Albertson Branch. You can see in the top right circled in yellow, the day was December 19, 1955 and the weather was clear and cold. You can also see at the bottom right circled in yellow it was monument NJ48H they were installing. But most importantly it is naming the stone with the letters JE. Could the stone be inscribed JE, or are they for some reason using the letters for their own purpose?

IMG1.jpg

I was determined to find out, so off to the Albertson Branch we headed until we could go no more in my car. On foot we traveled for over a quarter mile until the answer was in front of us. But something did not seem right to Gloria. First, the NJ48H monument.

IMG_4104.JPG

Then the stone.

IMG_4105.JPG

It appears the J is backwards. How can that be!

IMG_4109.JPG

IMG_4111.JPG

However, a closer examination shows that it is not a J at all, but the letter "Eye." The survey team had made a mistake.

IMG_4107.JPG

On the way back we stopped to examine a sawmill the Scott had shown me a few years back, and while there Jessica ran me over with my car. She got out and took this photo.

IMG_4112.JPG

I was able to recover quickly and we headed to Atsion and then to Friendship Bog to look for two more stones. Again, I will need Al's help one day to find those because we came up empty. With the day over I returned Gloria to her car and we parted ways until the next time.
