Getting stuck can be the worst but usually can be avoided by using commons sense. We came upon a guy last year stuck at the beginning of Stevenson road coming from Warren grove. There was a cut around but he tried to go through it. Then worst part is we stopped to help yank him out. We asked did he have a hitch or something to tie to. He said to it to the ladder rack that was on the bed of the pick up. We would have ripped it right off the truck it was so stuck in the mud. We actually bent the bumper when we tied to that.
That's embarrasing. Poor guy had no clue. Every male should at least have to go through metal shop in school.
He probably wanted you to hook it at the top of the rack too.
Came across this 2 Sundays ago. Funny how often you see this out there. Was nice enough to pull them out. They were following their GPS and wanted to keep going after we got them out, asking "there's no more deep spots past here, right?" lol. Sent them back the way they came and wished them luck. They did tell us at 1st that it was OK, they had called a tow truck and that numerous other Jeeps had passed them. I wonder if they would still be sitting there now waiting on that tow truck...
It's really evident that she was just inching in, bit by bit until she actually got bit. Did she have a male passenger giving advice?

They lucked out. Someone was nice enough to sit in the center of the puddle and spin their tires to rut it out prior to their arrival. They were hung up with the front tires spinning.
I can't just drive past someone leaving them stuck. At least got to give an effort to help them out, even if it involves laughing a bit at their expense and taking a few pictures. I was actually pleasantly surprised that Honda had a anchor point on the back. Made it an easy fix to get them out. Only thing I didn't like was the anchor was too small to get a shackle through, hence why I had to double up the tow strap and use one with a metal hook.

Good job stopping to help them. I also try to stop and help people if I can when I see them stuck. I hope that someone would do the same for me if I was stuck somewhere.
I think every pull out I've ever done has had a story behind it. One time I pulled this guy and his wife/girlfriend out. They were in a passenger car like the one above and had no idea what they had gotten themselves into. they might as well have had city slicker tattoed on their foreheads, which is no problem, people get into situations in unfamilar environments.

I suppose I understand to some extent, the guy didn't want to be indebted and paying me would square us up. But i gave him an alternative (help somebody else). Eitherway, I think calling me an a$$h*le was a bit out of line.

Generally those are for lashing the car down when its on the boat on its way over here.
That particular generation of Accord is built in either Ohio or Alabama, so I don't know why it'd have an anchor point back there.
I've seen a lot of cars that have a screw-in doohicky that is stored in the trunk. You pop out a little plastic panel some where on the bumper and wa'la, there's a threaded hole to screw it into.
Every VW we have owned has had one, but it is called a tow eye and looks the part, has a fitting front and rear. It is used to tow the car short distances or pull the car onto a flatbed.
