Many here know of Rutherfurd Stuyvesant's association with the Lacey Tract and Forked River Mountains. Some are aware that he had inherited his family's country estate called Tranquility in Allamuchy, NJ. Apparently several of the abandoned buildings there have recently fallen victim to arson and the renowned "Profanity House" was the most recent to burn. News articles about the recent events can be easily located and a youtube video captures the aftermath.

This topic reminds me--I have a faded copy of a deed (return?) dated 1860 for the Rutherford tract (Lacey Tract), issued by the General Board of Proprietors, of the Eastern Division of NJ. I'm giving it to Guy.

There is a lot of history in here, with many references to Aserdaten, cedars, creeks, causeways, branches, chains, stones, and people going way back to the 1700's. I'm sure there is something in here for Guy to disentangle for our amusement.
