Sunday's walk-about with Buddy

Sunday was a great day, eh? I went out to the Middle Branch of the Forked River. If you were zooming by on the Parkway, you mayhaps saw me.

Buddy and the water snake prepare for battle.

A stupendous stand of Narthecium americanum. I estimate 8,000.

Close up of Bog Ashpodel. Member of the lily family and endangered.

In the same bog were thousands of Pogonia Orchids. Even Buddy couldn't smash them all in an entire day.

Interesting fungi. Photo does not do the red justice.

A great Pine Barren companion. Built for the woods and cedar swamps.

Buddy was a little warm so he lay down in one of those icey cold water-filled cedar swamp holes. I was envious.
