I agree completely Guy. I'm very fortunate here, my property borders on a WMA and I've never once seen any signs of trespass. There's only one time that I even saw a hunter in the WMA from my land, he was up in a tree stand in the distance and whistled to let me know he was there.

Maybe people are more respectful in Atlantic County? Mudpie, I don't think you're over-reacting at all. I'd be looking for a new home if those kinds of things happened on a continuing basis.

What's WMA?

I don't think actual vandalizing will be happening anymore.
Without saying too much, the situation has changed.

Mudpie,
Our area has the same issue with cell service. You can make/receive cell service (Verizon) on a small portion of our driveway. During Sandy and for days after (and the derecho, and Irene, etc.) I put a lawn chair in the driveway to make communication comfy. Texting has worked for us indoors. Phone lines in our area are old, old, old. Rain, wind and/or cold render them useless. Verizon laughs. They say that there are not enough people in our part of the world to warrant the updating of lines. IF it ever happens we will be last to receive service. Your neighborhood will be after that. Our town has 160 +/- people .....about 150 more than yours. :)
I tend to rely on the computer for information searches....I could live without phone or television at the house. I enjoy the quiet out here.
We have satellite dish for TV too..... again it's the wind, the rain, the heavy cloud cover.....

Personally, I relish the anonymity. Spotty cell phone coverage means that I’m not fettered to a cell phone, a rare treat today. Our house is on the wrong side of the tracks, so we are the last place along an extended, circuitous utilities leg. The electricity goes out once a month on average. Analog phone service was even less reliable. Verizon once shut off my business service for a few days because they thought I didn’t exist. Cable was out of the question.

Before the 2008 crash Comcast refused to even speculate on a cost to provide me with cable service, demanding an $800 deposit to even speak. I paid and still got zero response, and demanded my deposit back after months of silence. After the economic slow-down, Comcast offered me gratis $3000 worth of cable through the woods in exchange for a reasonable three year commercial contract based on my consulting tree expert business. I’ve never been happier! Go commercial with Comcast for superior customer service.
