She should not have been out there if this is true.

The report also said that Largay had a poor sense of direction, got flustered easily, and was scared of the dark and of being alone.

Yes, and she did not use a compass, depended on a cell phone, had become lost several times while hiking with her partner, and left her locater beacon in her motel room. Any one of those should have been a warning. She had made it from West Virginia though and was near the end of the AT in Maine.

Are you doing the GH trail or the AT? Lots of great waterfalls up that way. We'll be up around the Bold Coast in October

I"ll be on the Gulf Hagas trail and I will also be at Quoddy Head as well and the Cutler Preserve too.Going to try to hit Acadia National Park as well if meathead don't close it down again.I"ll be upp there last two weeks of October.Wanted to hit fall foliage but also want to get some swimming in with the doges so don't want to push it by showing up too late.Going to start in VT/NH by hitting a bunch of covered bridges we didn't get to last time as well as waterfalls and swimming holes. The moving into Maine with Gulf Hagas,Orono Bog Boardwalk and Acadia then may out east.Might camps at Cobscook State park and Umbagog State Parks as well as Coolidge State park in VT.Not set in stone yet.Want to hike the Bubbles in Acadia.

We did a very similar trip, but reversed, autumn of 2014. Were in the Whites just before Columbus weekend; colors were blinding :D Maybe we'll run into you

My son was up there when they closed down. They jumped the fence and climbed up Cadillac. Met a ranger on top who didn't mind at all :)

The empty lot up top with one lone sea gull.
