A couple of weeks ago I ran into a state forrest worker in his white truck, being followed by 2 vans at Hampton Furnace. They were making the turn at the fork in the road and taking the bridge access road to the bridge.

The state employee got out to mark the turn with surveyor tape, so I asked him what he was up to. He said they were building a bike bridge on the bridge. I guess the vans were private citizens and were supplying the wood which is new, treated, toung and groove 2 x 8's. Since the fall I have been seeing white markers along the tracks, but the tracks are so over grown, I don't see how such a trail would get much use.

At least now I can get Willow over the bridge.
