Had a great weekend. I finally found this spot I have been trying to get to deep in Wharton. When I got there I wasn't dissappointed. Amazing! I don't want to post the exact location but lets just say it was a good deal beyond where the devil bids the owl goodnight, as Asa Pittmans friend would say (Thanks Dave, I am going to use that whenever possible).
Also, I went to the Cranberry festival in Chatsworth. The usual commercial stuff was going on but I met a gentleman by the name of Stan Fayer while observing a display of photos of the blue comet crash. He is in charge of investigating environmental crimes for Burlington county. He is the one responsible for finally getting the DEP to clean up pioneer smelting. He is a wealth of knowlege on the Chatsworth area. He accompanied Fred Brown and John Mcphee on their trip to see the proposed jet port in the plains back in the 60's. He also had met the last curator of the Wharton estate before it was sold to the state. He had actually met Beck as well. I encouraged him to check out this web site. He invited me to attend a woodland twp historical society meeting, of which he is a member, I think I will take him up on it.
