Another weekend out and about. A few people were catching pickerel on the upper lakes. Lots of dogs (I was dog sitting) and fun was had all around. I am still learning the finer points of my long lens but have found I still pull out my old point and shoot for macro stuff. You can find all the full versions on my flickr page. Enjoy.

Man, that pic is awesome, with the fuzzy out of focus stuff all around, like it's framed. Amazing it would sit long enough for that shot, they're usually busy-bodies. Great work as usual. Thanks.

Wow Man,
Thanks so much. It's like you take us with you on these walks the way you bring the images back to us. I do dig the dogs though and I'll take that sunset to bed with me tonight.

Great photo's! Bob should be able to help you with that flower. I tried and as usual I can't be of help:confused:

I wonder what the chopper was doing, sightseeing or patrolling for something?

That is Deptford pink.....Dianthus armeria.

The other one is not pipewort. It is something I am unfamiliar with. Do you have a shot of the entire plant? It seems to be an asteraceae of some sort. It was in a weedy area?

I agree with Guy, tho I've never collected it yet.

Yarrow.

PS: beautiful shot of that egret taking off. What's it look like trimmed to just the bird with the water droplets trailing off the legs?
