I think we all know who bats cleanup around here. I scared this off a dead deer. I counted over 40 of them.

Admired your 'shrooms a while ago and haven't had a chance to get back to them until now. Such a variety! I like the textures and domed sculptures, especially the dark one with the dinosaur-ridged hump. Keep on enjoying your natural fractal geometry, PCD, and we'll all benefit.

Very nice photo's! They make it look like it is much closer to winter with the colors of the leaves.

This morning at Great Bay Wildlife Area. I left the dogs at home so I could sneak up on some birds and shoot them... with my camera. I missed a beautiful Kingfisher by seconds.

Pancoast,
I love the retriever pics.
They are so clear I smell wet dog.
What type of camera do you use ? Were those taken with a special lens ?
I am going to upgrade next year as soon as the Obama dollars make it down to the local level. :D

I have a Nikon D90 and was using a 70-300mm VR lens. I am pretty happy with it. I still use a Canon point and shoot for macro shots.

I went back to Great Bay today hunting a King Fisher. I only saw him from far away.

Third one down, that wing span is incredible. These bird shots are great to look at, again and again--maybe because each one seems to have its own personality! Thanks!

From a few weeks back

Catching up. Been lax. Pancoast's shots brought me about.
Back on the 14th September I had some business in Harvey Cedars so on the way home you know I stopped by at.....
It was a fantastic afternoon and Blvd's end did not let me down.
THE_END.JPG

The afternoon beach to the North was a treat.

Looking out to the sea was Just Right!

.
Now, walking the marsh toward the old station, this lurker was mere feet from me whence he stood up (darn near my height!) and lofted off.
I really do not know from birds but he's a Biggun'!
LURKER.JPG

Funny thing is, He only would loft off far enough to keep a little distance between us. I tried to take over a dozen pics of his awkward lifts and wound up with pieces of wing, leg, tail, but never a whole bird.
In the end he won.
AVOIDING.JPG

We had a nice walkabout/flyabout though.
With that, I strolled back to the car, rolled down the Boulevard, and headed home, away from home, and it was a beautiful Monday afternoon, and it was good. Cruising those Pines roads on the way back to Pestletown were a treat that day.

Great pics Largo. I have been going there allot lately. It is absolutely teeming with life.

I have been trying some time lapse photography. I am still learning the finer points on the camera end (like don't touch the 'effin camera!) but have gotten a few decent results, nothing professional. I put together a small compilation with some bits of video. You can see my camera slowly sink on the second shot. I recorded some video and used the sound to add natural sounds to it, although they all don't match up to the scenes. The format between video and photo doesn't match up so that also looks screwy. Although, just as a process, it has been fun. Check it out.

...and some more recent photos.
