Not sure I know exactly which one you are thinking of Guy. I have walked on many, many corduroy roads. Some memorable ones are Oswego River just north of Warren Grove, Pine Plains Branch by that cabin the Nature Conservancy bought, Cedar Creek upstream from Bamber, Factory Branch out by the old fire tower, North Branch of Cedar Creek where Cliff Frazee's son still cuts cedar, and others I can't remember. Also, remember that the trail to the Swamp Monster is a corduroy road (Ben is correct).

It was a group of us and you and I were separated from them, and we came to a stream that was all wood on the bottom. It was crystal clear and we followed it for quite a while. I asked because I am looking for the photo which I am sure I took: however, I can't find it. Most of the ones you mention I was not with you.

Near Mt. Misery
This one in the great swamp struck me as particularly old. I have walked the one off of Mt Misery rd in Lebanon, the one behind the cabin in the plains you mentioned Bob, and maybe a few more I can't remember. This one seemed far more ancient.

BTW, this stream Guy and Bob are discussing. I think there was a post some time ago about a "wooden foundation" under water near indian cabin road. Where you guys in that area, could it be one in the same?

No, that's not it Jeff. I do vaguely remember the one guy mentions, but it just isn't coming to me.

Hey, wait a minute. Guy, I do now remember now. We were canoing up the Oswego River from Oswego Lake with my buddy Don and had walked off into the woods southeast of the river on the way back where we saw that big leatherleaf and blueberry spong. Then we walked in the cedar swamp nearby and saw a lovely mossy area with a clear spring creek. It was logs on the bottom. That was it, right?
