I think it's a hologram.no missile blowing up is going to look like that,the fact it is being beamed from the ground says hologram to me.

Missiles often spiral out of control when they fail, in exactly that pattern. The wider spiral glow is the water vapor and gasses ejected in the exhaust stream, which was pointing away from the center of the spiral. Occams Razor rules the day .


It's clear as a bell in that video. You can see the exhaust.
