Happened to be at the Flying-W in Medford for the 3-day hot air balloon event, which obviously was cancelled and I haven't seen it come down like that in years. I don't know the total accumulation, but it was amazing to watch.

I was looking at radar when an intense cell was centered over Medford, so I'm not surprised. The really heavy stuff just missed me down here, but we caught part of a smaller band. Really didn't last very long - less than a half hour - but we got about 1/2 inch during that time. Out for a walk afterwards, you could tell that it was intense by the piles of pine needles that washed up on my little trails.

Looks like the NWS in Mount Holly is a little confused this morning. They posted this on their website, saying it is the *Sunday* forecast, however they tweeted it out as the Saturday forecast. :D

Driving home was interesting. Rt 30 in Berlin was the most flooded (either my timing or accumulation), the 5pt intersection by the mart was under water.

Don't know how much I got in Barnegat, but I loved the thunder and lightening. It cracked, and rolled, and rumbled for 20 seconds at a time. I've not had one like that for many years. Felt like a good old fashioned thunderstorm.

Forecast didn't pan out here, they predicted a range of .75 to 1.25 inches yesterday and today. Barely got 1/4 inch at my place. Looks like more could be coming this weekend however.

That was some really strange weather today. I was out for a walk before noon and the sky was dark to the northeast, with distant thunder but no rain. When I got home, I looked at radar and saw an area just a few miles from me was continuously spawning storms that flowed north. This appeared to continue all afternoon whenever I looked at the radar. But it was very static and never drifted farther South. It was completely dry here all day, not so much as a drop of rain. Looked like a number of places were getting hammered though.

In Shamong we didn’t seem to get the amount that other areas did. When driving to Sweetwater river deck last night the flooding was intense around pleasent mills, I can believe they got 7 inches.

Went past Coyle field on 72 at 2:00. Cars had pulled off the road due to no visibility. A cell was just sitting there. Came back 45 minutes later and there was a small flash-flood creek running down alongside 72, right before the eastern border of Coyle.

Feel very blessed -- 7 inches of rain and/or grape-size hail would have been serious trouble. The USGS gauge at Shamong only measured 0.68 inches. It may have been marginally more at Tabernacle, but no 7 inches and no hail.

My grandfather had a saying about farming and rainfall: "Not enough rain, worry to death; too much rain, starve to death."

Eastern Tabernacle we had just under 3” of rainfall and marble sized hail.

Here are the cumulative rainfall totals for the past 7 days. You can see a couple dark red pixels that represent 8 to 10 inch totals near Lower Bank. It's been a really wet week there. We really didn't get much of anything at my place until last night when we got about one inch. The Southern part of the Pines is showing a pattern very similar to the 6-year totals we discussed here.
