Just had a serious storm go through. Already, in less then one hour we had .54 inches of rain. And so far 429 lightning strikes within 10 miles. It was hailing for a short while.
Wow, have been up since 5:00 and nothing here, but I see there are some strong storms Northwest of me and there's a severe thunderstorm warning for most of the Pines. Looks like this one will pass to the north of me, but there's another fast-moving front in Delaware now that may hit me soon.
That front swept through here just as I hit the road, rough driving with pounding rain and some fog but at least it was on the back roads without much traffic. Looks like the action is in West Virginia right now, hard to tell what impact that will have on us.
The forecast is pretty crazy, with things cooling down at the beginning of next week and lows in the upper 20's on Tuesday night and low 30's Wednesday night. That could do some damage to the emerging foliage.
I was rolling down the WHP just before 5:30am with rain like I've never seen before. I thought windshield was going to crack from hail, and I think I floated past the Walmart in Somerdale. Not a spot I typically associate with massive flooding.
Edit... and the lighting when I left home was 360 around, non stop everywhere, but it hadn't started raining yet. Once the rain started I couldn't see anything
Wow, nothing like that at all here. Just some heavy rain for maybe 20 minutes, I heard some distant thunder though. Looks like I got 1/4 inch rain at my place.
