Total here was 1.04 inches. Some areas of the pines received 4 inches. With two tornado warning areas we should hear from others with much more info. Some people were really hit hard.
All over here, I ended up between the two warning areas! It rained steadily for awhile, but I've seen a lot worse. No wind at all, no thunder. Whole storm is moving out to sea, tornado warnings are over except for one in Southern Delaware.
It is just now arriving here, light rain. I just came in from being in the woods until dark, waiting for the storm to arrive. It sounded ominous a number of times with loud thunder that echoed and rumbled for a long time. Then one very bright lightning flash and really loud thunder clap, seemed to be coming from all around. But nothing here and sky even started brightening. Finally headed in when the sprinkles started.
The middle of this band is arriving here right now, light but steady rain. Storm has really weakened from what I posted earlier. No active warnings in NJ - the only ones I see are marine warnings around Virginia Beach. But I wonder if the storm in KY/IN/OH will hit us in the middle of the night?
I was in the town of Goshen this afternoon parked along the road right next to Goshen Creek. My phone vibrated and buzzed with an urgent message that a flash flood was likely. I scoffed at it, but it rained like hell, and I lit out of there when I noticed the road was looking more like a shallow creek.
