I was stone hunting today and was about 150 yards off Sooy road when I found this.It was in a totally undisturbed area, the woods were moderately thick,no briar but a lot of Scrub Oak and tall Black Huckleberry. No sign of any old road or trail anywhere. It's is about three feet high and 2.5 ft square.I am speaking of the box here, please don't tell me it's a black lab :) I took coords so can find it again if need be.

I told Al I thought it may be a bee box but was not sure.

Hey Al,

If I was an evolutionist I would say that wooden box is the result of lighting striking a tree and random swirls of wind occurring over millions of years. :D

Who knows, given the right conditions that box might evolve into a Baby Grand Piano some day. In fact, I bet if you dug under that box you would find other trees in various stages of mutating into wooden boxes. Well...actually you probably wouldn't. But, hey, that lack of evidence doesn't matter. Anybody who doesn't believe that box is the product of random chance is closed-minded, unenlightened and probably suffering from a God delusion.

Old Crazy I am beginning to like you very much:) Your sarcasm coming from a creationist for a change is like a drink of cold water to a very thirsty man. I am very much suffering from a God delusion.Thank you!

Did your dog pee on it so he can find it again?
Sorry, couldn't resist.

she tried Jburd but being female she has a hard time with vertical objects as do females of our own species.I once heard a woman state she could do anything a man could do to which i replied can you pee standing up?She said i suppose I could if I wanted to.I said yes but can you write your name in the snow. Her reply was well you can't give birth, the pain would kill you to which i replied you are quite right since the only orifice I have down there isn't built for that job and I never claimed it was.

I suffer from the God delusion as well. I don't have enough faith to believe that time, matter and energy created itself and ordered itself. No evolutionist would look at that box in your photo and conclude that it arrived there by random chance, absent a designer, yet they will look at things far more complex than a wooden box, like DNA, and arrive at that very conclusion. Psalm 14:1

I love how religion is a constantly discussed topic on a site devoted to the history and ecology of the Pine Barrens. I like it almost as much as I like the threads on Bigfoot.

Don't you be saying nothing bad about BigFoot!

It is a compost bin or a planter box. It probably doesn't have a bottom, because that is the first piece to rot out.

I haven't looked at that verse yet but let me see if I remember it right. The fool hath said in his heart "There is no God".Would that be it?

Well it is wood so it can't be that old.I doubt it's treated wood, didn't look like it.It is 150 yards off a dirt road and no tail visible.I was wondering if it could be a deer stand that has fell out of a tree.I did not think to search the trees for spikes at the time since I was hot, tired and on a stone hunt and my dog was thirsty and there was a spung several hundred yards away that I thought she might find water ,happily she did but all she wanted to do was swim in it.I Think this may have been built on site since no one could lug it there by hand or bring it in by truck.Never seen a stand quite like that.If anyone wants coords to it I still have them.go check it out.
