No, this was , and all were, on the side of the road and I drove over them when I left.

Turkey scratch up large areas of leaves but I"ve never seen them scratch bare sand. They scratch to uncover bugs in leaf litter. When a dog scratches it is spreading it's toes and leaving scent from glands located between it's toes.

Last summer we were walking down Mines Spung Road after a rain when the sand had been reset to no tracks. There were similar scrapings with K9 tracks about. It must have been very recent as the dogs went nuts. We followed the tracks for awhile but never did catch up. We had many coyote sightings in this area from summer through fall. My terrier hunts the same way along these roads and occasionally catches a vole or mole.
