Okay, I was trying to place the semi-clearing and the oak trees in the beginning, so that makes sense. I took a chance even though I don't remember seeing them on the other half by the ranger station.
Something inside me is telling me it's in the plains, but I'm not sure yet.

You know, before the road was there, there was no problem...but since it does not have a dam or culvert in a proper place, the water backs up behind the road.
Sorry, that's 50-foot today. Here's 100-foot in August 1980, when it was already past its heyday. I just found the photos amongst some books and had to bring some dignity back to the feature. RIP.

Pretty slim clues Guy. Define what you mean by "signs". Sounds like that has some significance (i.e., other than road signs).

The light in the distance are signs at a state highway. You have to go North or South with South being a right turn. This road was recently paved a year ago or so. I had just passed from one county to another. The road name happens when you eat.
