Woodmansie Wildfire.

I read somewhere it was on private property near the sand pit lake, which makes it outside of Greenwood. There is also party spot back there near the lake, easily seen on satellite. I think I have a GE kmz that shows the boundaries, if I do I'll post it here.

This is from GE. My guess is that it was SE of the sand lake for it to have been on pvt land near Clay Mine Rd and move over into Ocean county. I backtracked the smoke plume from Flash Earth and it looks like it started in an area somewhere around the marker.

I was there today and took GPS cords of the burned area. I will post later. Hidden Lakes has burning around the edges. I suspect it was a backfire in some area's. That was the first time I have been there in a while. I took photo's so I can make a new "Then and Now."

Ugh!

Been away from this site for awhile, but I see some people are still clueless as to the operations of the NJFFS during a wildland fire. Maybe it should have been left to burn?? MAYBE that's what the 2 dozers "working" were for. Having a little inside knowledge into this fire, I know that no new roads were created. Several were regraded to allow access for the fire apparatus to engage the fire without being torn up { you know, by those pesky ORV's that love to rip and tear everything...lol.)

Just walked the lakes at the site yesterday with my pooch.....really bothers me how people can't clean up after themselves. Beer bottles all over the woods between both lakes. Got some real nice photos though.
