    2015 Eagle & Peregrine Reports

I went past the nest yesterday around 3:30. There was one perched up on the tree next to the nest.

    Where is this?

Yes it is!!! I know most of us pass that spot many times and even walked it. I thought the snow might throw some off.

    Where is this?

Ok this should be an easy one. I'm curious if the snow confuses anyone.

Train Don't Go Through Here No More

    2015 Eagle & Peregrine Reports

I thought that might have been the same nest you were talking about. I haven't seen it up close but even from 206 it looks unstable now.

    Advice on waterproof boots?

Oh they are leather soles. Mine have rubber soles but are smooth with no tread. They are ok in the rain but horrible in any type of frozen precipitation no matter how little there is.

    2015 Eagle & Peregrine Reports

Which park are describing. I drive up 206 several times a week and have been watching nest off in one of the fields in a dead tree in the distance. I'm not sure what kind of bird made it but it blew down this year and I see a new one being built but there is not much of the tree left for a nest...

    Advice on waterproof boots?

I have a pair of red wings in the same style. I love them. I wear them for work since a lot since they are nice looking. Their only fault is the soles are smooth and even in a light dusting of snow I might as well have skates on. I learned this the hard way. I nearly broke my neck several times...

    Advice on waterproof boots?

I have often wanted to get a pair of Whites Pacs. There is no better boot made. The price reflects it too. I have owned a pair of smoke jumpers from the mid 90's and wore them to work for many of those years. There is no boot that has more arch support. I've had people describe it to having a...

    Marking Rivers on public lands

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear that it's not the liveries placing them there at least. I know the mile markers are important for first responders to respond effectively to an emergency. It would be nice if they were done more professionally.

    The Map & The Commission

Yea I'm on the same page as you. Show me a number on how much the DEP has spent to remediate these damaged areas. I want to see them fixed but if nothing was done then there was no expense to the taxpayers. The failed MAP plan cost us much more.

    Marking Rivers on public lands

A month or so ago I was driving along the Batsto River. At a usual spot that I've stopped in the past I noticed relatively new mile markers on the stream. I'm assuming that these have been done by canoe liveries that do this for safety. With that said I find it hard to believe that the best way...

Have you ever felt unsafe in the pines?

I was expecting you to say you were at Hidden Lakes. It was sure different back then. I've heard many stories from back then.

    The Map & The Commission

I think the biggest point taken from that article is that the PPA is still pressuring the DEP to close the roads And now their pressuring the Pinelands Commission as well.

Have you ever felt unsafe in the pines?

That's some bad luck. Running into a motorcycle gang and undercover cops in the woods. I don't think I've seen either of them in my travels.:)
