    Zeb's Bridge

I don't know about that, but I do want to say that Prince was one of the greatest guitar players I have ever seen. That talent was amazing, and overshadowed by his remarkable songwriting ability and his musical talent overall.

    Evapotranspiration in our Pine Barrens

Very interesting Mark. I would have thought oaks would draw more water. That word "exploitation" of the groundwater -- it sounds like they knew the area would be built up, and so they were trying to help ensure enough water for all?

Any plans for next April's total solar eclipse?

Very interesting Guy. Did you notice the train whistle echos?

    Evapotranspiration in our Pine Barrens

Interesting presentation. Bottom line theory is, when the pines are jam-packed together and so more able to suck water out of the ground (and thereby evaporate more water to the atmosphere), our aquifers are more rapidly depleted. At least that's what I get out of it. I knew about...

Groups Fighting Forest Fires Before They Even Star

I like to see fire breaks around communities. But, I wish there would be more online maps showing wildfire locations during and after the fire, to include the boundaries of the burns such as they do in the aerial map in the article.

The Atsion Mansion, Then & Now

I like sauerkraut. I take a small rack of pork ribs and add sauerkraut in the slow-cooker with just salt and pepper. Damn, is that good! There is a woman I know who cooks it with brown sugar and onions and serves it on hot dogs. Wow!

    Where is this?

There are Pine Barrens in Cape May County; amber colored cedar streams, pitch pine, copius mountain laurel, and sandy substrate. Maybe one of you southern men can tell me where this is in Middle Township, Cape May County.

Airpark Wildfire last September in Lacey Township

I visited the subject wildfire area yesterday. This was definitely an extremely hot fire. In the top 5 of my memory for sure. All the trees in the fire path were burned right to their distant tips, and in many places the duff was burned right down to the sand. It probably was a slow moving fire...

Any plans for next April's total solar eclipse?

Where were you? I was in the woods again, and it only got a little cooler and like intensely overcast. I learned one thing for sure, we humans don't actually look at the sun directly (unless it's low in the sky), it's more that we feel it. I tried looking at it but I could not last even 1 second.

Any plans for next April's total solar eclipse?

I just looked up and it was time for the 12 noon news. I turned the sound off because I knew what they were going to harp on, and I'm done already! Cooked!:p

    Beaver Deceiver At Webb's Mill

What about that flurry of lobbying done in years past by the NJ Outdoor Alliance, the ones who got hunting on Sundays in the WMA's? They were super successful; why don't they bug the state for more beaver permits?

    4.8 earthquake. I felt it.

I was cutting a banana, and the back of the house rumbled enough to make me concerned. I went out to the front door and looked around, and a big gust of wind came in, so I wrote it off as a gust. But then my daughter called from Marlton (facetime), and my grandaughter was scared with tears. They...
