    Bobwhite reintroduction

The caption does seem backward. I used to hear Bobwhite all the time back in the 70's. I don't think I heard one for more than a decade. The obvious change in the pines I see since then is the trees have gotten so tall, no open space and the light doesn't' get to the ground. The change has...

Saying farewell to the Toyota FJ Cruiser

I have a similar problem with my TJ. After sitting for awhile it will crank and crank until it finally starts, maybe 10 seconds but it makes me nervous when I'm alone out by Jemima Mount. I discovered that by turning the ignition to ON and waiting for 15 sec it fires right up.

    Fish Factory

Still, it would be fun to see them. I too have realized too late what I let go by. But before digital photography I did not think that way.

    Fish Factory

Did you take pictures over the years? It would make an interesting time lapse.

    Aerial Harrisville Photos

Nice video. Ben, that outing was on4/16/2005. You gave us a tour of the ruins and also of the town. It's sad the ruins have to be kept behind a fence. To really appreciate it have to walk through and under it, truly massive!

Important meeting looms for Black Run Preserve in Evesham

Good trails but absolutely full of trash. ATV's from the local development running around too.

    Bad Winter Coming!

Throw them in the camp fire :) I have a butane can that I use occasionally to refill a portable soldering iron. The same can for more than a decade and it is still fine.

    Penn Branch Mountain Bike Trail

They cut the trail and it is narrow and twisting, almost a constant switchback. They even made their own bridge when there was another close by. We hiked a portion of the northern part yesterday. Look at the map and you will see that it parallels Sandy Ridge Road and crosses many others. We pick...

    Capewell Glass Negative Collection

I think they are 2 different coins. The one on top looks like $10 1915 or 1913 Indian head gold eagle. If you look it up the reverse has an eagle on it. The second maybe a $20 double liberty. They are side by side and not the same diameter. I am no expert at all but I bet Jerseyman will nail...

Bodine Field to Wading Pines, A PBX Hike

Maybe Sandy, it wasn't anchored into the ground. That said, they did know something about framing. There is a well worn trail from the beach to it. Lots of happy chiggered canoeists. :)

The painting of the Wading River

Last week on a paddle down the Wading from Evans Bridge to Beaver Branch I noticed posted mile markers, with reflectors and painted trees. Even trees projecting into the river but easily paddled around were painted bright green and blue.

Bodine Field to Wading Pines, A PBX Hike

During a paddle down the Wading River last week I decided to revisit a shack we had found on this PBX hike in 2012. 2012 2014 The shack in pieces When I got back to the beach I noticed all of this dirt on my legs and it was moving. I got into the water and sanded them off with no ill...

    High Crossing never disappoints

Two this morning. this one north of the tracks. He managed to get himself out. The other was south of the tracks, pulled out of the water. There were two people on the back of a pickup looking at it. On our return trip it was being towed out to Carranza Road with water pouring out the tail...
