    Chiggers

I try to stay out of the woods until October 15 in order to avoid chiggers. Either this works or I have been extremely lucky for a long time.

    North, South or Central?

A guy I know who lives in West Cape May claims anything north of the Cape May Canal is North Jersey!

I think EarthTech bought the place to stage their trash trucks closer to their Cumberland County trash routes.

    Standing Cypress

Beaver Swamp WMA has a Bald Cypress at the end of Beaver Dam Road. It is located to the right of the gate about 100 feet into the swamp on the edge of the marsh.

Litter and Trash at East Creek Lake. Grrrrr....

Old Crazy is right. When the shore traffic backs up in the summer the shoobies stop there and relieve themselves. Be careful if you decide to pick up trash there in the summer!

Plan to put gas pipeline in Pinelands spurs ire

Compared to the bridge everyone wants in order to replace the ferry it would be much less intrusive. I am just thinking out of the box. South Jersey Gas says Cape May County needs another gas main in case of an emergency. I would assume that a much smaller gas line could be used if it didn't...

Plan to put gas pipeline in Pinelands spurs ire

Many of the proponents of the pipeline argued that their needs to be a redundant system of gas delivery for the residents of Cape May County. I wonder if it is possible to lay a pipeline 17 miles across the Delaware Bay from Delaware? They can run a telephone cable across the Atlantic Ocean so...

Plan to put gas pipeline in Pinelands spurs ire

Or maybe buy the Holly Farm. The pipeline will still go in, they will just make it go through an area that is not in the "Pinelands" but should have been in the "Pinelands".

    Savoy Blvd construction

I never understood why some of the sand plants don't utilize the railroad. The railroad tracks go right by the mines in Tuckahoe, but everything is moved by truck. I would think it would be more efficient to move large amounts of material to Pennsylvania by rail.

Plan to put gas pipeline in Pinelands spurs ire

Sometimes you have to pick your battles, the gas conversion is a positive step forward. One article I read stated that portions of the pipeline will be buried nearly 50 feet deep! The existing railroad right-of-way that services the power plant could also be removed to make up for any...

South Jersey lawyer drowns on the Oswego

The same thing nearly happened to a friend of mine, fortunately we were able to pull her up to safety. I don't know if it is more dangerous to wear a life preserve sometimes because they can easily catch on a submerged object.
