Here is a hint Guy, It was an active cranberry bog about 10+ years ago. And not the Parker Preserve.

High Crossing is gonna be fixed along with the rest of Tuckerton Road North toward Carranza. It takes time as bad as those holes are. Some of them could swallow a tank.

South of High Crossing??? Great find! That part of Tuckerton Road was just graded the first time for the year. Gotta let the pine needles break down. Next time it should smooth out better.

Ed that is correct the road is gonna be repaired all the way through. Dirt is going to be hauled in to fill the monster holes as weather allows. Their gonna be pumped out prior to filling.

Thank You Guy. I am so saddened what these big trucks are doing to our Lovely Pine Barrens. I have lived here my entire life (6 Generation) and this is terrible. The total disrespect some of these folks give to the road structure. :(

I am sure you can get an answer from Rutgers Research Center in Oswego if you speak to Dr. Nick Vorsa. This sort of stuff is his specialty.

Al; I find them all the time on Wharton. I have come across several. I had two deer killed inside our blueberry fence in the snow. They packed up and went to pushing them into a corner attacking them. I have the photos. I wounded a deer early fall deer season with an arrow and left it lay...

Its been a tough winter this year. The cranberry root structure and fruit buds are safe and protected covered with water from the freezing. I just hope the blueberries hold up in these extreme cold temps. -8 degrees is pretty tough on the plant and fruit buds.

Here are a few photos of some extreme cold weather on the cranberry bog's. Ice is 7" thick. -8 degrees last night 2/20/15. Keeping the ice cut and chopped around the flood gates freeing them from attachment in case elevation change in the water. It has been a couple cold winters the last two...

Thanks I was just curious. I know that woods well. Its ashame how bad these roads are getting throughout the woods all over. Pretty soon were gonna need a Tank to get around I guess. :argh:
