Question About a Few Local Trails

We hiked the batona Trail from Ong's Hat to the Fire Tower this Feb 10th in sneakers. It was dry. It was 4.9 miles long Acording to my GPS track, your hike to Deep Hollow pond would be 3.5 miles. We checked out the Mt Misery Trail at Packim Pond and it is wet, especially now. I would wear knee...

Harrisville Lake to Wading River Canal

Another source of water for Harrisville. I am interested in the details also. I doubt the EPA would approve. The diverter washed out in Sept, 2005. The diverter was a great place to hang on a hot day.

    Batona Trail Re-route

I saw that box on Monday, I didn't know there was a house there. Since the sun came out we decided to hike between 563 and 532. Cedar Bridge, I wonder how long it will last? We almost had white caps today.

    Batona Trail Re-route

We have been hiking the trail from Ongs Hat south this winter. On Monday we hiked the section between 72 and 563. I was somewhat dissapointed, although it certainly is better than hiking down asphalt. I was hoping it would take us by the old bogs, but it mostly stayed far from them. There is...

    Nor’easter expected

Four inches in the Carranza area. There are a suprisingly lot of people about in the woods this morning. We took the dogs for a walk along the Skit. They loved it, and some critter tracks. The Skit, it's down there somewhere.
