I alway thought that $200 was a very low estimate to close off the tower. Kind of like when I buy something without my wife's permission it leaves less explaining when it was cheap;)

If the DEP wanted that information all they would have do is tell the FFS to gather up the info for them. The FFS works under the DEP.

Thats the big question. Are the number of violations up because of increased activity or the result of increased patrols? Either way this study is the baseline for future decisions. As thorough as it is, the study by itself can't prove when these problem areas started. Some are likely 20 years...

It It looks very thorough and there is a lot of good info there. It's a good base line for future studies to see what is working and what is not.

I don't either but there has been not been a PLC study done outside of Wharton yet. The problem is in the article itself. The image provided is misleading to title of the article which is Pinelands Commission Releases Damage Report for Wharton State Forest.

My point exactly. I'm not saying there's not damage there but you are far from Wharton where the actual study happened.

Umm...I might be wrong but the article is about Wharton. The map that is included looks more like the entire southern half of the state. Might be misleading a bit....again:rolleyes:

That's interesting. Locust is used out west for fence posts because of its resistance to rot. I had a friend remove a couple trees from his yard and he gave me some of the wood. I was amazed how long it lasted. I saved a piece or two to use for a wood working project. I just haven't figured...

I missed them this year. We always take the woods to Batsto to avoid the traffic though;)
