    Its almost stink bug time

Nice trap, started noticing them about a week ago. I didn't know they spray or did I miss the joke? The only time they stink I thought is when you squash them then try and wash the smell off your fingers. Not a horrible smell, but.... They seem to try and get inside to hide in cracks, clothes...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I mentioned a lawsuit in my previous comment. Perhaps the funds being raised will be used to initiate a lawsuit? Keep in mind the DEP war chest has deep pockets using "our" money, but even a temporary restraining order will put the brakes on this while both side better organize. The fact Rob...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Can anyone else see "fault" with this line of thinking? Think transportation, be it a road, trail or path not the mode of transportation. Under the DEP's definition would all roads purposely made for motor vehicles then be off limits to all other modes of non-motorized use? Were any of these...

    What is this place?

smoke-jumper Thanks for the fire link. I was told the men died off Oswego Rd, on a relatively straight dead end road, it actually looks like a push line rd. Apparently the men died on the Allen rd side of the West Br. It was said there was no road near the fire truck, I imagine they got in...

    What is this place?

The bike frame is really nothing much to see, just wanted to see if Guy had a photo. I don't think there's much else to see but you guys pick out the smallest details so who knows? There's a couple of hunter drive lines along with trails leading to hunters "spots". Not so much now, but in the...

    What is this place?

Yes, but does TeeGate? To be fair the bicycle frame is at the end of a road that turns into a hunter deer drive line in the woods not the fields, quail hunting you wouldn't be there.

    What is this place?

Leave it to Teegate, is there any place you haven't been or pictures you don't have? LOL Wait a second, do you have a picture of the rusty bicycle frame nailed to a tree on the North end of the fields, or the old truck cab hidden within the fields? [you probably do, lol]

    What is this place?

It's an interesting area to explore, there are "original" trails between some of the fields before they made the fields. I messed up when I said the Chamberlain branch is North of the parking area, it is South. A mountain bike is a good way to explore in there and legal. I'm showing the remains...

    What is this place?

Yep, as 46'er said, but there should be a cable gate at the parking area and the next road further North on 539 beside the Chamberlain branch is blocked by dirt mounds although trucks have made their way over and around.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

About 2 months ago I came across another road totally blocked from both ends by chain sawed trees. Of course I had to investigate. The trees are almost the entire length of the road. It appears someone started to clear the trees then someone cut more trees across the sections that was "cleaned"...

    Munyon Field

Thanks for the discussion and the old thread. Looking at the satellite view you can see the rectangle of different growth shown in the 1930 aerial. Something was there that history may have forgotten. Manumuskin Wouldn't have expected something where you indicate, but the woods are a bit...

    'yotes

What's missing from the story is why she couldn't climb back down. She tied herself to the tree with her pants, couldn't she untie the knot? Maybe she thought she was a cat and needed to be "rescued" by fireman?

    Munyon Field

Speaking of Munion Field, does anybod know the history or the reason for the name? The area is generally known as 5 corners, were their fields or a farm at one time?

I'm fairly certain I know where that hunting shack is.

    Windows 10

I don't understand what makes these things tick. It wasn't until today I read Windows 8 & 8.1 is a disaster and windows jumped past 9 to 10 just to distance themselves of the 8 embarrassment. I have no idea of what they're talking about. I have Windows 7 Home Premium and I don't "think" I have...

    Forest Fire at Atsion

Can't say for sure but I'd say looking at the extent and height of the burns pictured are backfires.

    Prescribed burns

Smoke Jumper, your last reply is more along the lines I would expect from a FFS worker not the apparent attack I feel you made on me previously. Yes you did say that Bob should inquire to those in charge. Bob, finally we're talking instead of posting jabs at one another. Happy that you finally...

    Prescribed burns

Been busy, so late reply. Bob. accepting and liking are 2 different things. I don't like a lot of things including what happenes in the Pines, but I can't stop it especially when Pinelands approves. Personally I don't like all the access roads that have been upgraded from the original stagecoach...

    Prescribed burns

I didn't realize my statement would be taken so literally. What I meant is the ugliness of the fresh bulldoze in about 5 years will smooth over and there will be new plant growth sprouting, starting this summer. Depends on how heavy the traffic, but I wouldn't expect much. The new brush piles...

    Prescribed burns

No, you have no idea of how incorrect you are and how just laid back I really am. I just tire of the same old, same old dribble from clueless people that have the time to whine, but not the time to ask those in the "know". Because this is in YOUR backyard is what upsets you? I alluded to this...
