What Globalpbs can do about pine beetles!

Hmm. I'd love to see more info on this. Is there any available? To be honest, I find that kind of hard to believe.

What Globalpbs can do about pine beetles!

Still looking forward to hearing about this.

What Globalpbs can do about pine beetles!

How would it be able to differentiate between pine beetles and one of another species?

What Globalpbs can do about pine beetles!

How species-specific is this sensor? Not really clear on how it works or what it is. What does it look like, and how do you set one up? Is this an expensive piece of equipment?

    what is this from

By "delaminated", I mean the outer horny claw is removed, leaving just the bone. This graphic of a cat's claw illustrates what I mean. Maxwell's find would be the bony part of the "amputated distal phalanx".

Ok, stuff like this plagues me. I have rethunk the original object. The ridge along the object as well as the shape of the base has been bugging me, it just does not seem right that it would be a shark's tooth. Almost, but...not quite. From the shape of it and given that ridge and its location...

You have to watch this video.

I saw some bull moose in Minnesota during the late winter (antler shedding time), and every time I stopped the car and got out to see them, they were just as curious as me. They'd put their big noses up in the air and try to get a whiff, take a step closer, take another whiff, lather, rinse...

Holy cow! I mean...oh, I hate puns. What a big rubbery-lipped cutiepie. I would not have believed that if I hadn't seen it.

    Chatsworth Bald Eagles

Nope, let's not. I had a project last year for a class that was related to using DDT and I found this pic. DDT was largely responsible for the near-extinction of the bald eagle, as you all probably know, because it caused their eggs to become brittle and break before they could develop into full...

It's always fun to find a skull! Did he identify it himself?

The more I look at it, the more I wonder. That groove makes it confusing. I am about to send it to my zoology prof so he can scratch his head over it, too.

    what is this from

It seems unusual at the root though, perhaps very worn down? But it really does look like a shark's tooth otherwise. Interesting! I am sure to spend time looking around for that online.

    what is this from

That does not look like a mammal tooth. I'd like to see the root end of it. Any more photos? Uh oh. Have you discovered a piece of the elusive pine shark?

    The Economy

Yep. me too! :) I am SO glad this whole thing is over though. It was a really ugly campaign and I found myself angry more than is healthy for a person. :jeffd:

    The Economy

Meh. Not going to get into a political discussion here, it's not the place. I don't know if it is obvious where my political proclivities lie, but I am not good at hiding it. Let's just say I have long hair, use patchouli incense and drive a Subaru. :)
