Gas prices are so high so let me spend $7k on a Geo instead

We just bought a new car for this exact purpose. My husband is an independent computer fix-it guy who spends a LOT of time on the road. He has a Jeep Wrangler with a 2" lift and big knobby tires. You can see the problem this presents. It gets about 12 miles to the gallon, no kidding. So he was...

    Gypsy Moth activity

Nope, not too early, my coworker (an entomologist) lives in Tabernacle and says they are belaying themselves onto everything at the moment. The Dimilin spraying may keep them at bay for a short time, but they will be back.

    Catching up on some photos

That tree frog is almost handsome enough to kiss. :) Beautiful photos.

    Bald Eagles at Franklin Parker

I see them flying over route 1 in Plainsboro quite often, of all places. There must be a nesting pair on Carnegie Lake. They are getting more and more common. This is a good thing. :)

Those are fantastic! The Copes tree frog is my favorite.

    Thanks Ben

Allow me to join in on the applause for NJPB.com. I have gotten so much from the vast knowledge base here, and I think I've said this before, but the discussions have sparked a renewed interest in ecology, and are pretty much responsible for my going back to graduate school. I am halfway...

Why can't I lose this gut?

Aw, poop. :( No sense of humor? That Wendy's photo was pure comedy!

    airport lake

I have a couple of friends on the East and West Amwell township committees, I'll ask about the property. I think it was left to kids who don't live there. I am pretty sure it is all private property.

    Nah, I'm just a big know-it-all. :words:

    airport lake

The township raised the taxes a lot, too, I hear. The owners were forced to sell because Hopwell wanted another soccer field there. (Twin Pine airport). My husband used to fly banner planes from Twin Pine.

Why? That's a pretty reasonable walking pace.

    airport lake

That was a private airport. The guy who owned it was a retired commercial pilot and did aerobatics every day, he really really loved to fly. I saw him all the time, he would dive and roll for hours. He was killed in a crash about two years ago. http://www.1010wins.com/pages/62537.php?

    airport lake

Airports disappear all the time, especially small ones. Land is valuable and when people move in, they complain about the noise. Sad, but true. We just lost an airport in Hopewell twp a few weeks ago for that reason. Can you be a little more specific about where this lake is? Streets, etc...

Wow, Sue, 100 lbs! That is quite an accomplishment. Congratulations! :)

Why can't I lose this gut?

That video is interesting. I have some issues with how the experiment is designed, but it does demonstrate that there are apparently preservatives in the fries that don't break down quickly. LIP, it's much cheaper to pack your own food and bring some with you on your hikes. Bring some lean...

    Another dumb question

To me, macadam is regular asphalt, like what they use on the highway.
