    Mines Spung Road blocked

One of the signs said danger. The Enduro's put up a small marker with a W on it indicating it's the wrong way. I never saw them block a road, other than with their bikes, bodies or trucks.

    Mines Spung Road blocked

Earlier this week at High Crossing. There was also some yellow caution tape. http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.76691902523312&lng=-74.64265823364258&z=14&type=m&gpx= I didn't have time to check it out yet.

Tearing Down The Walls at HF

Someone was really going to town on the walls at the Hampton Furnace ruins this week. I was down there earlier this week and did not notice anything. It is very obvious now, the broken mortar is very white.

    Attention NJ Forest Fire Service

I think it's just burried. There is really no intelligence evident here.

    Attention NJ Forest Fire Service

Friendship Bogs bulldozed I came upon this out by Alloway's Rock last week. It just screams Drive Me, and it goes right into the wetlands. It used to be a small and very pretty road untouched since the state bought Wharton. Turning around 180 degrees, this is what the road used to look...

    Closed to Mortorized Vehicles

Once more! More than the scar at 1/4 mile was closed off. Roads that were used for at least a better part of a century were closed. It's easy to sell out something that you don't use everyday. Besides aparently there have been signs there before and look what good that did. Your just pi....g in...

    Closed to Mortorized Vehicles

Hay Road is very drivable, I've been on it fall, winter and this spring. Just wait till the hunters find out about this travesty.

    Closed to Mortorized Vehicles

The only road that's not supposed to be there is the circular one the fire service put in there and the one down the center of the wetlands by the 4 wheelers. The ones that were posted predate the state's buyout of Wharton and can be seen on the oldest aerial photo's.

    Closed to Mortorized Vehicles

They didn't just make it alittle easier, they buldozed the place up trying to stop a fire in 1999. If you don't believe me walk it and see the piles of sand and trees pushed off to the sides. This started by tearing out the tracks at High Crossing and widening the road into the Scar and...

Mines Spung Road at Tuckerton, just south of High Crossing, is not posted. I went there today but did not take it very far toward Mannis Pond.So the SE corner of your map is not included.

    Dock ruins on the Mullica

Nice find Gabe, and a refreshing thread. It does look newer but from where I think the location is it may be pre NJ State Forest. We haven't been on the river down that way this year, but when we go I will try to pick low tide.

    Closed to Mortorized Vehicles

NJTLC was present yesterday morning helping to put up the signs that keep me out. They could have gone to 1/4 mile and written down plate #s and not screwed over law abiding citizens.

    Closed to Mortorized Vehicles

We frequent the area between the RR tracks and Lower Forge often, and were headed there yesterday. It is too far for us to walk with the road closures so I guess we've seen the last of that beautiful area. Thanks, alot! You can read about the special interest anti-access groups here...

The whole area is now foot traffic only and that came from a member of the NJTLC who was helping.

    Closed to Mortorized Vehicles

A large section of the pines was being posted this morning at 9AM. The usual paper and wooden signs. It is still going on as I write this. We passed many vehicles, not all were state, involved in this at the Batsto Bridge at Hampton Furnace on our way home from our walk. It shuts down 1/4 mile...

    Train Kills Mother, Two Children!

Accident site Yesterday Deepexplr and I continued our quest of the Blue Comet. I believe this is the site of the accident. http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.687044196705415&lng=-74.81268882751465&z=14&type=m&gpx= The article in the first post says the victims were from White Horse...
