    A video for Ed

We don't have hills and rocks but I am sure she could and would. She regularly climbs trees in the yard after squirrels. She will go up to the next big crotch. Coming down is interesting. No I didn't put her there. Buffy is also an agility dog, always in the ribbons and frequently first...

I pulled a car out of the sand this morning.

They said they were there since 5 AM. They had a big tent setup which could hold 6 easily. They were a very eclectic couple, but I will say no more here. Another fun spot is in front of the pump at Batona Camp. People think they can drive up to it. I think it may have been a devious trap. Ed

I pulled a car out of the sand this morning.

I don't know why they were driving here in a big Mercury. A young girl and boy, I found them before 7AM. http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.78506773316429&lng=-74.65752840042114&z=17&type=h&gpx= There was a big hole here where someone got stuck back in June. A car mat and a pair of jeans...

This is the new barrier as of this morning. I can't remember when it was replaced but it was a long time ago, maybe the late 70's. I take it you are not local. Ed

I found a set of keys

last Wednesday on Push Line Road at the gravelly hill. There were 2 car keys, a car fob, 2 safe keys ( the kind you can't copy) and lucky for the owner an LA Fitness card. I called LA Fitness with the members # and gave permission to give my phone #. Within an hour I got a call. He was cruising...

West Branch of the Wading River

It used to be our yearly trip back in the 70's. We did it with a heavy wooden canoe. I haven't done it since 75 or 76 and allot has changed since then. It was work, but not too bad, but then I was young and could do anything. Since then Demarco dug that canal just west of where the lake empties...

Pan and Guy, these old photos are great! I could walk right into them. Look at the old barrier in Pan's photo of the memorial, I forgot about it, and how about those bell bottoms. I regret I did not take more pictures back then. Please keep them coming. The new bridge at Quaker Bridge is animal...

Pan, was that near Pine Crest? There were a couple of box car doors there as recent as a couple of years ago but your picture is not of a box car. Please keep the pictures coming! Ed

    4 Rattlesnakes Along a Road

Terrific find Guy, and you were prepared to capture it. I never go anywhere without my camera. Was the video shot with a dedicated camera or was it part of your still camera? I haven't used the wide format yet. I don't understand why that man who got bit recently felt he had to handle the snake...

    Cool Tracks

The other morning we found these tracks on Hampton Road. I had been looking at ATV and 4 wheel tracks and the first thing I thought of was how similar they were. It reminded me of a tracked vehicle but they were around 10 to 12 inches wide. I believe they were made by a snapping turtle, they had...

    Michael Huber Prairie Warbler Preserve.

Al, when introducing a new pup to water it is best to first throw mommy dog in several times. The screaming and splashing generates a great deal of excitement, and the pup soon follows enthusiastically.Of course, if you have a particularly reluctant pup you may want to tie a 20 foot cloths line...
