    Snake ID

My sister in law found this snake in her back yard in Forked River, she caught it and put it in a tote so I could come check it out. Not shure what it is. Maritime garter? Sorry about the picture in the tote, the snake did not spend much time in it. Any ideas? Chris

West Bank Oswego, A PBX Hike

It was a real good trip minus the heat. We tried to stick to the wet areas as much as we could where it was cooler then in the blast furnace like uplands. The after party was a good time also with good food , drink and company. It was a great day capped off with a ride home through the woods...

    Mountain West, a PBX Hike.

I would like to drop a little weight for the big one. It would do me good to drop 15-25 pounds. I shed 60 pounds a few years back and was down to 187 but I am back to 210-215 now. I also used to drink Coke like it was going out of style and I think that was most of my problem. I felt awesome at...

    Moving Day

March 25th was moving day. South Jersey farmers used to move to other fields to farm once ther overworked land became unproductive. Today this is replaced by crop rotation, balanced fertilizer and irrigation. Once the work was done moving a large dinner and party would follow. Chris

    Mountain West, a PBX Hike.

Google Earth had me at 5.38 miles, I guess it is not as accurate as USA Photomaps. The route we used for the end added some milage to it, plus the thick areas we had to dance around brought us up like you said. I felt good Sunday morning. Chris

    Mountain West, a PBX Hike.

It was indeed a tough one today. Very thick and slow going, some areas the scrub oak was so thick you almost had to crawl, but we were rewarded with a view from FRM. Guy in the upper reaches of The Factory Branch swamp. One of the three small branches we found. We will name this one the...

    Cranberry lables

I was looking through Mts83's Flicker photos of Lines in the Pines and saw two cranberry lables in Ted Gordons collection and the barrel lable and the crate lable looked very similar to two lables I have framed and hanging in my kitchen. I have had them for a while and are in mint condition...

    Sunday at Double Trouble

Nice pictures. The next time you go to Double Trouble cross the dam overflow, which is safe most of the time, and poke around in the swamp that is on the back side of the Creek. It is a real pretty area. You will need knee boots. Chris

    Northen Fence Lizard

I caught one in my back yard once early in the spring, I think he was getting some of his first sun of the season and was still half asleep. Since they have built more houses around me I do not see them anymore.:( Chris

    Jersey Devil

A busted kite getting yanked out of a tree. Both are pretty cheesy. That strip mall is on 9 a few miles north of me. A real eye sore. Looks like they are lost on 9 in South Toms River. Chris
