    Garden 2020

Seeds came today complete with instructions on propagation ! I am going to follow these instructions and start them indoors. We had dumb luck going in our favor the last time I grew tobacco. We planted the seeds directly in the ground after the last frost date and had more plants than we knew...

Fascinating account Spung-Man. The tobacco must alter the licorice flavor because I absolutely hate licorice but I enjoy loose leaf chewing tobacco. My regular brand is Redman and I know that licorice is a primary additive to that product. Redman has an old photo of the original recipe on their...

    Russo's Market

We are using Fiorentino's in Blue Anchor. A very pleasant experience every time. Very fresh produce and they carry milk, eggs and baked goods.

I've used it 4 times but I don't remember the emergency question being asked. The answer would have been no if I was asked that but the call was properly channeled regardless. All 4 times I was connected to a live dispatcher almost immediately and all 4 times I received cell calls within 20...

Did you notify anyone of the incident ? If not, it would have been extremely helpful if you called in that incident to the State, assuming you were on State property. The 877 WARN DEP number (877-927-6337) works for all Parks and Forestry and Fish and Wildlife violator calls. I have used it...

    NJ looking for endangered species...

Awesome photo in the article. There is an open pack of Lucky Strikes on the console of the computer. Ahhhh, the good old days. Back when a good tasting non-filter cigarette was actually good for you and smoking in the workplace was encouraged ! :)

    Batten down the hatches tomorrow

Oh wow, that turned out to be a Chicken Little report. My wife just called and said the sky is blue and birds are chirping but mysteriously, the power went out.

Just saw a 15:40 alert calling for 70 mph gusts. My wife is home and sweating bullets. Severe Thunderstorm Warning DEC001-NJC001-005-007-009-011-015-029-033-132045- /O.NEW.KPHI.SV.W.0034.200413T1940Z-200413T2045Z/ BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Warning National...

    Batten down the hatches tomorrow

Couple blips here at work in central Camden County around 10:30, enough to cause computers and routers to restart twice. After that, all good.

My wife and I were there today on the motorcycle. We parked in the main lot and did some trail walking. No crowds, no virus and no uncivil acts by anyone. Saw one group of three with masks. Loop looked like it had the normal traffic flow but we didn’t do it today.

I am going to try growing tobacco again this year. Me and two buddies grew some Burley about 20 years ago and the plants kicked ass. Unfortunately, we had no idea what we were doing with the picking and the curing. We hung it in a lean-to structure with no door and it got moldy and never cured...

Good question. But I don’t know the answer. When I was in college in 1979 the turkey Program was in its infancy. I had a class in wildlife management at Rutgers and Bob Erickson from Fish and Wildlife gave a presentation on the program. It was very interesting and he demonstrated a rocket net...

That goes contrary to the permit system design. The number of permits alloted for each zone is different and is based on local bird population. Similar to deer permitting but with different zones sizes and boundaries.

Well they are going to stage the refund requests allowing requests to be made for A and B weeks first. A week starts April 20, B week on April 27. I wouldn't be able to request a refund until D week got closer. I wouldn't ask for the refund anyway. I would rather see the money stay with the...

Just received this from Fish and Wildilfe. Refunds of turkey permit fees will be given for those zones that are heavily covered by State Forests, like where I live in Zone 15. I have a D week permit in 15. The COVID-19 virus has affected New Jersey in many extraordinary ways. The recent...
