Parks, Forests, WMAs open only for passive recreation

Nothing really in at all right now Al, except groundhogs. But as Broke Jeep said, no G'hog hunting on WMA's or in State Forests. Ironically, our State allows some pretty heavy duty centerfire rifle firepower for groundhogs, fox and coyote. Turkey starts coming in this month.

Trout Season Early Opener 4-1-20 !

Trout fishing will open today April 1, 2020 for catch and release ! I saw a post on the NJ Conservation Officer's FB page early this morning and I really thought it was an April Fools prank. As it turns out, it is for real. Bait sources may be under a rock in your backyard for now...

Ticks? Anyone seen them recently? Cumberland Cty

That would probably make a good repellent or disinfectant. :)

    Breaking self imposed NJPB quarantine...

I was there yesterday Al and I still see evidence that they are still there. There were several small dams that appear to be maintained.

    Isolation 2020

The only thing I’ve seen so far from F&W is a request to not approach the stocking staff when you see them and maintain a safe distance from others while fishing. They said if you can’t do that, find another place to fish. I haven’t trout fished since I was a little kid. I have noticed a lot of...

    Isolation 2020

We haven't seen my grandson for two weeks now, except through facetime. Yesterday I dropped off some fresh day boat scallops from River Road Clam House to his Daddy and my other son Mike and we were able to talk to my grandson through a window for a few minutes. It is sad and frustrating but...

Ticks? Anyone seen them recently? Cumberland Cty

I pulled a tick off my arm last Thursday after the running the dog near Rockwood. That was the first of many more to come for me. I'm a tick magnet. I think they are attracted to bourbon. :D

When I run into you again Noboat we'll have to maintain proper distance. Shouldn't be a problem down here. This was taken last Sunday in Parkdale where I ran into you last year. We were hiding from the Virus.

    Isolation 2020

Stopped for milk this morning at a Heritage. I was noticing that there was no one in the store these past few early mornings so it looked like a safe place to stop. Opened the door with one finger, opened the cold case with one finger and carried the milk to the register and out the door with...

Rutgers University Marine Research Station nearTuckerton Threatened by Rising Sea Level

The late Y-Buc Bill from this website owned a sneakbox that was built on Little Beach. Another nearby island that almost saw large scale development until someone had an epiphany and though the better of it.

That place has go to be one of the most photogenic along our coastline. Unfortunately, it is taking a beating. Look at historicaerials.com and use the slide feature. Load 1956 and 2015 and slide. It looks like a sea monster bit off 30 acres of land.

    Barry Zeldin Podcast

One point that is dwelled upon in Episode 1 and mentioned elsewhere, is that it appeared to be out of the ordinary for Zeldin to have left the dog in the truck when he went into the woods. As I hunter, and also a man who also takes his dog everywhere, I would never take my dog into an area that...

I have never seen anyone type as fast as my sister. She never looked at the typewriter at all and she would know if she made a mistake. She would backspace and correct it without missing a beat and without looking at the document in the typewriter.

You may find it hard to believe but I was a little wise ass when I was a kid and I had a penchant for breaking things. I thought the carriage return was cool and I used to press it all the time on my older sister's typewriter because it made such a quick movement and loud noise. Then, I broke...

GALLERY: Look Back at Batsto Village

I had a calendar of antique heavy trucks and it had a photo of a chain driven Sterling. Cool stuff. Ford owns that name now.
