    Wawa

I had a great-aunt who lived in Deleware Co. and after one of those horrific floods that they get in the summer I found an old Wawa creamer bottle stuck in the creek bed behind her house. Neat history...... turtle

    "Wing and Water Festivities"

Karl ! What time did you get there? I was in the parking lot at 10:30 am.....walked around and explored...... Glo and Ed showed up at 11:00 and we waited until 11:18 before shipping off. We even mentioned that you would see us paddling out on the lake and have no trouble catching up...

    GLO-rious week....

Hello all.... It's been a lovely week in the pine woods and topped off with the most kick-back day on the water. Gloria and I wandered, explored, and paddled....here are the results of our accomplishments as we attempted to capture our moments in "forum" style. I don't know how to thank Ed for...

    Ruins on the Mullica

There was a road on the Atlantic Co. side of the river....an access road. The concrete "wharfs" are the supports for the roadways over the creeks that empty into the Mullica. On the Atlantic Co. side of the Green Bank bridge you can see it from the paved road. turtle

    Trashing the pines

WOW! I am so impressed with the accomplishments of those on this forum! It's obvious that you all made a huge impact on that area. Wonderful work! Gipsie and her crew worked on Saturday in Wharton and collected quite a bit too. If only the rest of the human race felt as we did..... Happy...

Bill, Have you seen this episode on pbs? http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episodes/frogs-the-thin-green-line/introduction/4763/ While scrolling through the channels last week the mention of "spadefoot toads" caught my ear and we watched this program, all the while I thought of you and Al...

    This Weekend at Stafford Forge

I had company last weekend. They wanted to see the sunset on the plains. I have forgotten how wonderful it is to be up there. I need and want to make an effort to travel that way more often. I love the scenes that you capture. This forum is chock-full of folks with the gift of sight. Thank...

    Falling waters

Seems like the weather finally cooperated for your trip to photograph the waterfalls. How beautiful to witness another "territory" so close to us, yet so different. On my travels to that area I have been mildly shocked at how many waterfalls exist in just short distances from the roadways. A...

    Flower ID

Hi oji.....I was really interested in this plant. Have never seen it. Shortia galacifolia or "Oconee Bells". Fairly out of range....seems like it is more viewed in N. Virginia and S. Maryland. Either way, it's a rare bird. Took me a while to find it in resources. I defer to Bob for proper...

He is not here, He has risen

Apologies...... Saw it rise and saw it set all on that glorious day. Attended service and worked in between the two. BTW, what did you do on Monday? http://www.dyngusdaybuffalo.com/whatisdyngusday.html :) turtle

He is not here, He has risen

I can attest to the breathtaking sunrise...it was soft and misty here. The day was gorgeous. I'm glad to see that you were up early for it as well. turtle

    Sunday at Double Trouble

I agree with Jim if he is referring to photo #7. It has a unique wilderness quality to it.....almost as if it is from another region of the country..... Very nice. I like the photo looking into the dam also. Thank you for sharing them. turtle

    Water Conditions

If you are considering canoes/kayaks.....call Bel Haven....they are good at keeping an eye on the river levels since they service all 4 of them in the area.... real responsible folk. 609-965-2205

    Water Conditions

I hear that Mullica Camp (Mullica River) and Lower Forge Camp (Batsto River) are closed until Monday. This is pending review of the areas later in the weekend. Godfrey's is sketchy.....Hawkins is beat to get to unless you come in from the north. Hampton Road has a total washout with a 4 foot...

    Tuesday with Alfie

Holy cow...... Beer, stones, flowers, music, bricks, spungs....now boards? I will aim to find myself my own favorite board....or at least find a board that is respectable enough to keep company with yours! :) What's next? (don't answer!) I can touch the "west late" photo and feel the warm...

    El Nino

...... maybe bobpbx can come and rescue us in his new boat!....... I am not looking forward to more rain. I would rather have snow. There are roads in my area that still have orange cones on them due to flooding. Oh well. turtle

    Tick&Fleas

Sue, How is the tick and chigger thing in Michigan? Do you even suffer from them at all? Also, as I have been thinking of your move during this winter, I have also wondered if you had the opportunity to find yourself some forested havens to wander. turtle
