That's great Guy, I am glad you finnally located the gun club of mystery. I recall that we looked for it near oswego at one time, but determined it to be the wrong spot.
So, after 29 years do you feel satisfied to finally know the location? Or a bit of meloncholy now that the mystery has...
Yesterday I had the opportunity to get out and do some fishing. There is a beaver pond on the Roberts Branch that I've been meaning to get to, but the banks are very swampy and it is immpossible to access the main channel even in waders, so I took the kayak out.
I'm glad I did. Beautiful...
I have been around that old house. Prudential had a for sale sign there for a bit, and I called, didn't recieve a return call and two days later the sign was gone. The house is in very sorry shape. Dangerous. When the sign was up I took a good look around. It has already been subject to...
I would say I have definitly had many spiritual experiences in the pines. I always go to the pines to center myself or sort things out. Being surrounded by so much life out there is both humbling and enlightening.

I did that pre-cana thing also. The pastor kind of took to us and we ended up having dinner at his house. He had a really cool triumph spitfire he was restoring in his garage. The actually disscussions were strange though. I was told not to pick up women in supermarkets or something like...
I like the lantern hanging off the rear bumper of the '29 chevy tow truck! That could come in handy in the pines!! I like the Delage as well. I'd love to drive a car like that...classy, simple and cool.

Thanks for posting this. That's were the PPA proves itself. In catching these sort of things the Pineland commission misses. I've differed with the PPA on a particular issue in the past but ultimately I am thankful they are around.

I had one living between a tree and my house at my old house. A really huge one. I would watch him frequently for entertainment and curiosity. Then one night comming home from work, I walked through his web not thinking. He ended up on my shoulder and I got to tell you it was pretty...
Welcome to the forum. I'm sure Dragoncjo will be in touch with you (perhaps by PM). There are certainly some beautiful reptiles in the pines. Sadly, because of poachers, many of the specifics can't be disscussed on a publically accessable forum. I hope your back/shoulder heal nicely.

Thanks for posting this Scott. It argues strongly for private sector lumbering doesn't it. George Zimmerman accompanied me to verify my measurements on the Mutha ("state record" cedar I found). we kept in touch for a bit via email but that kind of fell off. We had quite a conversation...
I've witnessed pinesnakes rattleing their tails (pbx, three river crossing), and their is a similar appearence to the yellow phase rattler. Bob, I think he staddled it with his truck, not his legs. Nice snake Tom.

I think you might be, with high likelyhood, the only person in history to refer to chiggers as weeweeheads.
Guy's description is dead on Sue. They hit in a clump of approx. 50 and then spread. I've seen very small immature ticks similar in size to chiggers also.

That line bothered me a bit also. The pine barrens are historically characteristic new growth forests due to fire, but i agree I would never want to see the forest harvested to the extent that it was in the earlier part of the 1900's.
