    Full Blown

No, not a ritual at all. In past years I've been out in the woods on july 3rd or 4th and it always seems like everyone is out in the woods..... more people less herps.

Thanks though, that is more interesting reading. I wonder if they are still studying the area, I went by yesterday and the fences where still up, along with lots of no tresspassing signs.

    Sanctuary Development

Does anyone have any recent news on the sanctuary development vs. rattlesnake and pinesnakes. Are they connecting that road between the two developments. I was looking at the area today in my car, and the most recent news I can find is 2004.

    Fox in Haddonfield

Nice shot Guy, were exactly was that? There is quite a population of fox around haddon heights, haddonfield, barrington, audubon, haddon twp. As I've said before tavistock c.c. released captive bred fox onto their course in the mid 90's to help with a goose problem. When I was on the golf...

    Yellow Billed Cuckoo

I've seen quite a few, I would say they are uncommon. I see them alot out at whitesbog. I believe they lay their eggs in other birds nest, then the parents raise them not realizing they aren't their own.

    Swamp Pink

What makes the plant so rare Bob? Is it like the pine snake that it requires a certain habitat, and the habitat is threatened, therefore the species? Do people collect it like reptiles? Thanks Chris

Tour of south jersey and pine snakes

Its a risk that I'm willing to take to help the turtle out. If I get fined for it then that is something I have to deal with...I'm not going to sit there a let leeches suck at. I should note that redbellies are not threatened, endangered or a species of concern.

Guy, it was a fish hook with the barb through her lower jaw, the top portion was coming out the mouth. I wanted to help her but I would have had to bring her home into a brackish tank which I don't have, then release her later. If you put them in freshwater they get a fungus which can spread to...

Tour of south jersey and pine snakes

I saw some horseshoe crabs around thompson beach road, but I think they were dead. I intended to go to some beach areas, but lots of people were fishing, and I know how I dislike it when people walk and hang around me when I'm relaxing. I also intended to walk out to the bay via a murky old...

Yeah, I only looked for terrapins on a few passes on some roads that run through marshes. Could have found alot more in the morning. I've figured out where and when to look for muds, but there normally around terrapins. Good luck with your trip.
