All,
I had quite a bit to do today, and accomplished most. Out first stop was to photograph the burned area where Boyd first visited after the fire. So here is a somewhat Then and Now.
Here is the first photo I took there a month ago.
And here is today.
A nice size lizard at the washing machine there.
I am standing on it looking down and you can see the lizard along the top edge.
A close up of the trees growing back.
Found this large beetle.
This is interesting. We visited Lawrence stone #13 which is quite remote. I was there with Steve (Behr655) and Jessica the first time so I have photo’s of the area then and now. Check out the vegetation changes after the fire, and also notice how small the stone seemed before the fire, and after the fire it appears to be much taller because the brush is gone
Today
And a few years ago. Notice the vegetation around Jessica.
Later Jessica found this turtle.
And my most recent “Then & Now” photo. In 1976 I visted this monument and my friend took this photo. I never remembered where it was, but over the past year when I had time I was narrowing the location down when I found some higher and lower numbered ones. Today, I finally found it.
Here is the full size photo if you are interested.
