    Favorite/Coolest Place in the Pines

As far as streams go the Wading is probably the most beautiful other then the Tulpehocken itself but the wading is more navigable but unfortunately it is much over used. The surroundings make it gorgeous but as far as the creek itself Cedar Creek can't be beat for the clarity of it's water.You...

    Salem County Stones

Found four more today. The first two were plotted to and right on the money. The second two had a plotted stone at one end (second one) and a corner guess at the other end and then I had to stretch a line and meausr to the second two and the guess was only as good as my corner pick and it turned...

    Bottle hunting reccomendations

I would think the bottle would move with the soil. Now if it found itself pinned between two rocks I could see it being shattered but the soil around here is pretty much rock free and it would be free to move in the direction of the heave.I have found bottles by the dozens buried in the deep...

    Bottle hunting reccomendations

Cold weather on it's own will not crack glass, the exception being if the bottle becomes full of water upon freezing the water will expand and if there is no escape it will crack the bottle.Water being the only liquid I"m aware of that expands upon freezing while every other liquid continues to...

    Sunday Stone Searching Seriously Started

Yes we did get to the WS9 and the broken T stones. There is also a T stone further south we never got to but to get to it legal will involve a wade/swim across bass river to get to it. I do believe Guy found out what WS stands for but I complete forget what that was now.Is that the puzzle your...

    NJ Hunting Maps

Keith I am in no way blaming you for the inaccuracy of the tax maps and I have used them in the exact way you have on your site by making a track of the tax borders and putting it on GE or right on my GPS but you have made it very easy just to go to your site and download the track from there.I...

    Where is this?

These beautiful beds of Carex pennsylvanicus always seem to be in places that were known to be fields at one time.Would my theory that this sedge grows there because the humus/root layer of the heath family was eradicated by the plow?If so how long would it take to grow the heath layer back...

    NJ Hunting Maps

Bob I suspect there about as accurate as the tx lines he probably took them from which means they could be right on to a couple hundred feet off.I have no idea why the tax overlays are as innacurate as they are, you'd think they would be innaccurate everywhere or accurate everywhere but on side...

PBX guys, I need a way into the bog

It may ell have been a manmade channel especially if they are perfectly straight and parallel to each other but beaver also make runways like this so they can travel through the brush in safety. To them being in the water is sfety so they will make runs from the ponds edge into the forest to...

PBX guys, I need a way into the bog

If you look on Google earth in that area with the Panaramio feature on you'll see a few HDR shots I took of that area last time I was out there. Looks like that first shot is showing a beaver trail from the dike to the water.
