    Canoe, canoe?

Nice photos Guy! Look at how fast that water was that day. It was certainly a difficult run.

None of these allowed in our parks and forests this weekend. http://www.pxleyes.com/photoshop-picture/4a6a7102f1909/Knucklehead.html

I am in the "not alive" camp for virus. Outside the host, they don't carry on all the requirements of life that I learned of in Biology. They are on the edge of life. Further, when most people think of the word "kill", it means put an end to life. When a blowtorch is aimed at a hard surface...

    Canoe, canoe?

I recall, when I was looking for a kayak 5 years ago, that I did look into Hornbeck. But what about the seat, being so low. Was it difficult for a senior to get in and out?

Does anyone know what this stone work is on the Gabreil Daveis tavern property?

By the way, if you are on facebook there's a very nice group titled "west Jersey history". You could post your question there.

They also had, in some years, an open day in Lakewood for all vendors to bring their craft to let people try them out. You could also try a craft out at that place in Brick that also closed.

    Canoe, canoe?

Yes, that use of a kayak paddle is growing in popularity now for solo canoes. I wonder how the Kevlar will handle our piney rivers though, with the thud-thud-thud you get here from hitting submerged trees and branches.

    Canoe, canoe?

    Looks pretty stable.

    Canoe, canoe?

Yeah, that's too narrow and long for me. I want to get into some tight spots looking for plants. By the way, this canoe intrigues me, I've never seen anything like it. You? Probably hard to keep the darn thing straight. http://www.goldenhawkcanoes.com/10__Traditional.html

How long is it? Is it light?

    Canoe, canoe?

Now here is a canoe built to last. Watch what they do to it. It's a crying shame.

    Canoe, canoe?

What do you think the problem was Guy, too narrow?

    Canoe, canoe?

I had a coleman about 8 years ago. Guy and I went from Lake Oswego all the way up to the dam at Sim Place. I think we dragged that sucker over like 150 trees that day. Built to last! And that is a great price too.

    Canoe, canoe?

There's a style of paddling called "Canadian style". I see it, but don't think I'd like it. At all. It even looks uncomfortable. It's a solo style.

    Canoe, canoe?

Now here's a real interesting one. Look at the weight; 29 lbs for 15 foot canoe. https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/boa/d/cheltenham-bell-merlin-ii/7103929904.html

    Canoe, canoe?

Hmmm, just saw this in Craigslist: I never talk to someone on Craigslit without using their email service. Whenever I sell, I get lowballers and scammers, but they are fairly easy to weed out. I sold the kayak on Craigslist.

    Canoe, canoe?

Well, I sold my Wilderness Systems kayak. I just cannot get used to a kayak. It may have a lot to do with my age; it is hard as hell to get up out of them when you land for any reason. And when I float our rivers and lakes, I get out of the ship a lot. Here is what I sold. It was very nice, but...

More Changes at Forked River Mountain

Fair enough. What else do you propose should be allowed in there in terms of non-human powered locomotion?

I was replying to Jon, Hank. And as I said, it was just an observation.

Does anyone know what this stone work is on the Gabreil Daveis tavern property?

I lived in Germany for awhile. Sometimes you'd see little statues of Mary or some such. They'd place her in a spot with a stone backdrop. Maybe a relic from a pious person who wanted that sort of thing in front of their property. Just a wild guess.
