Likely him when he was young. When I picked berries for him in 1968 or so, he was in his 60's seems to me.

Pemberton has nice examples of homes of that era. I went to Pemberton High school, and rode through that town for 7 years to school on a bus. A man named Lyman was mentioned above. I picked blueberries as a teen for 4(?) summers, 2 of them for Lyman Simpkins. Do you see anything about him Guy?

Stimulating my interest in Mr. Gaskill, I found this on a search. He is quoted in this Wiki article about Swarstwood Lake. I didn't know too much about it before, but there is a lot of interesting information in here. Well written. It's really surprising how geologists can put all the early...

    Barry Zeldin Podcast

That is sad, I'm sorry to hear that. What was his age at time of death? It sounds unusual for a person his age.

    Emmor W. Mick

Emmor must have felt pretty good about the Armistice, signed just 2 months later. He likely would not have been drafted anyway, but still.

    Heritage Minerals

You have a real mixed bag out there. The land east of the RR, is I think CAFRA, and Pinelands control on the western side. But most of the land is disturbed. From the digging, you have these great hills of sand, and I mean BIG. Now the ponds they developed really don't have a drain, unless it's...

I think it's still being fought over in the courts or within the halls of Government Departments (EPA, Pinelands, Cafra, etc.)

I like that lake a lot, and I like the name. I recall a couple family picnics there. I've lived and swam in Hampton Lakes, Presidential Lakes, Lakehurst, and Bamber Lake. I also swam in Mirror lake and both swimming lakes in Forked River and Harry Wright lake in Whiting too. Fond memories.

    Bulltown Bogs

People will hire themselves out as junk removers. They remove it alright, but they don't pay a fee at the county dump.

    Hard Drive

That reminds me. I have a few floppy discs with photos on them. I'll have to find a company who will put them on a CD or thumb drive. Geez, remember the viruses in Napster?

    Hard Drive

Did you ever destroy one? This is my second. The first one I did by putting it in a bucket with 2 pounds of salt for six months outside. I think I remember pounding it with a sledge hammer at the end. They are super tough. Today I used a big crow bar and chisel to open it up, then when I got the...
