    Where is this?

We have a winner ! Good job Bob. Now you have piqued my interest to investigate the location of your guess in post 881. It will be interesting to see if there are similar construction techniques or to see if there is anything there at all. I will try to get there this week.

    Where is this?

You were much closer in your other guess.

    Where is this?

Bob, you are very close, given my somewhat vague hints. I almost feel like giving it away now but try one more time.

    Where is this?

First clue. East of 206, north of White Horse Pike and south of Quaker Bridge Road. I will tighten that up as we go.

    Where is this?

    Not near Parkdale sir.

    Where is this?

Eating my Cheerios and drinking V-8 before heading into the turkey woods like all normal people. Chris did well today by the way. Not so for me.

    Where is this?

No Bob but I bet there was something similar there at one time. I have been to that spot a few times and I don't recall any bridge remnants.

    Where is this?

The decking is not nearly as old as the rest of the bridge. It looks like it was laid on only two of the beams to allow people and/or motorcycles to get over the creek. Yes Bob, there are concrete abutments on each side to carry the beams. The beams are fairly light duty, not as heavy as you...

    Where is this?

Where's this ? It was there at least as far back as 1930, based on aerials.

    Freeze Watch

E Permit Turkey opener today. Coldest one I remember. The gobbles froze in mid-air ! Actually, I only heard a few today. It was strange hunting turkey in my winter deer gear but I am glad I wore it.

An Interesting Pines Post From an Unlikely Website

Found a link to this post on a BMW E90 website this morning through Facebook. The author gives a whirlwind tour about just about everything in the Pines accompanied by beautiful photography. If you know someone who is interested in the Pines but can never seem to find the time to explore, have...

    Buddhist leader inspires local audiences

"When he was 14 he made a dramatic escape from Chinese-controlled Tibet to India to be near the Dalai Lama and his own lamas (teachers) who already had escaped." Plenty of room for lamas on that property ! Some deer exclosure fencing should keep them from escaping. :)

Job's Old Swamp, A PBX Hike

Haven't seen an aerial yet that can predict briar entanglement or the lack thereof Al.

    My Exakta's Last Outing

Thanks 6'er. After reading that procedure and looking at the size of the screws, I am thinking the other guy should have been charging $19,500 instead of $195 for a COA and curtain replacement ! I would last about 5 minutes into that procedure and then the camera and the tools would be thrown...

    My Exakta's Last Outing

Thanks 46'er. There was one guy I found by Googling who still has a web page but he is not taking on any new work. He had a fair price for a good clean and oil and curtain replacement at $195. However he still has a note from Jan 2013 saying no new work is being taken on. I haven't contacted...

    My Exakta's Last Outing

I decided to burn a roll of film through my old Exakta with my Soligor 180mm hanging off the front for old time's sake. I had parked this camera a long time ago because the shutter curtain was hanging up and rewinding the film was getting harder and harder to the point where I stripped the film...

Job's Old Swamp, A PBX Hike

I haven't viewed my track yet but I am sure it will show similar stalling in those areas. For me, the last few hundred yards before popping out onto Rte. 70 really added insult to injury.

Job's Old Swamp, A PBX Hike

I think we should have called it Job's Old Swamp For Old Men. Idle chit chat is starting to lean towards war stories about ailments, aches and swollen prostates, something I never imagined I would hear on a PBX hike. Well it's happening but we ain't quittin' till someone gets airlifted. :) It...
