    History of NJ Cranberry industry?

Don't hold back Guy! Go for it. What about this amoeba. I always wondered what it is. Who knows where it is?

You and Ron. He emailed me with the correct spot too. He likes others to have a chance.

    History of NJ Cranberry industry?

I imagine that the early ones without a lot of money backing 'em were not cut straight and may not have had all the ditches cut just so, and were quickly overgrown, and may be unrecognizable today. And even if cut straight, like this one below from 1930, can be almost recognizable in 2015 as...

These are interesting. Probably those ditches made to drain the road.

I see they took a bite out of our Batsto hills. Don't be messin' with our hills in Batsto.

Yeah, my friend has one and got a note from FitBit 5 minutes after his morning constitutional. They asked if it hurt, as they could tell it was a little firm.

Guest Opinion: Devise a user-friendly vision for the Pinelands (Albert Horner)

Please, allow me to comment. "Everyone needs a map, but none exist. The DEP refuses to issue a map for Wharton, although two have been developed. GPS does not work in the Pinelands. Maps can tell people where they can travel safely. " We don't need another map. There are plenty of maps...

I mean no disrespect for what you are doing for the family. But when you and your wife drove down that road, you said to each other (paraphrased) "look, the trees are short with good spaces between them, how could he have gotten lost?". But that's not what it's like 200 yards into that swamp...

"IF" you walk in a straight line. I was all the way down to here, and a GPS was crucial. Also, lost here is usually temporary, yes. But the average Joe is always told to sit still and wait for help. That could happen to many people. Have you been in this area all the way to "down 3"? Suppose I...

    Barry Zeldin Podcast

You misunderstood me. I was not speaking of Barry at all. The two voices on the webcast were saying after driving out there that (paraphrased) "I don't see how anyone can get lost out here, all you have to do is look for the tower". You said that of people in general, whomever they may be. And...

I listened to the first episode. The assumption stated in that episode that it would be very hard to get lost in those woods is dead wrong.

    History of NJ Cranberry industry?

It would be a miracle if that was a cranberry farm. The water should be brackish there, and the farm implements would sink in the mud. It's interesting to note that the cranberry operation across the river has an outflow for freshwater at that point.

Dave, your first post was near Tuckerton. Maybe it was the Mill Branch, and not the Bass River.

The hydrology in that particular spot looks deficient for cranberry. Could your sense of North really be NNE and you ended up on the Ives Branch?

Yes, that is a wild area; Bass River headwaters. PBX did a trip there in like 2002. Very interesting. I may do that trip again someday.
