Pennsylvanians to Be Allowed to Paint Trees Purple to Warn Trespassers

I sure hope Mr. Haine's doesn't contract with some business to do his trees. That would be a mess and a shame.

SHOULD OCEAN COUNTY AMEND NATURAL LANDS TRUST PROGRAM?

Well, if they're going to do it, then build the family oriented off-road motor vehicle parks and get it over with. For Ocean County residents only. But choose sites that are not wilderness or environmentally sensitive and that won't disturb neighbors. Charge fees for maintenance and upkeep. Get...

Pennsylvanians to Be Allowed to Paint Trees Purple to Warn Trespassers

A real problem is the lack of an up to date countrywide database of property owner boundaries that can be referenced on digital maps and aerials.

    Fall/Winter Stone Searching 2019/2020

Considering the junkyard, I was floored to see that they have increased the amount of vehicles in there to 100% of carrying capacity (based upon what I see). I'm really surprised that they and the Lacey Road Junkyard are allowed to operate in the preservation district. Lacey had zero cars for a...

SHOULD OCEAN COUNTY AMEND NATURAL LANDS TRUST PROGRAM?

I'm against this bastardization of the original fund and I voted against it. There should be two separate funds, so it's easier to track where the moneys going and easier to get rid of one while preserving the other. This blurry line between recreation and open space will not end well.

Water spots that are not water spots

What bothers me most about this story is the truck that did it. I've heard of people getting rid of chemicals this way before. If they did it on purpose, that's what prisons are for.

    Bear

My next door neighbor has been in the pines all his life, and I completely trust him. He saw a bear cross Lacey Road heading west last week. Up by the junkyard.

How farmers in New Jersey’s Pinelands grapple with the environmental toll of Thanksgiving cranberries

Good article. Comprehensive and fair. I get tired of reading the other ones that just touch the surface for the pretty pictures.

    Ceiling fan

Sure, no problem Scott. Do you want to do it this weekend sometime? If not, just let me know your schedule for the following week if you want to do it sometime. No miller needed, I usually don't drink in the day. But I would take a small touch of the crazy juice when I leave.

    Pine Barren History Shorts

....."nearly 40 gunners at Shoal Branch below Chatsworth". Funny, we all think "below" Chatsworth for a location such as that, but in an article today, it would be 'south' of Chatsworth.

I did go into that cedar swamp 3 years ago, but did not go back too far. It was not that easy walking in there.
